Stephanie Sweeney is the newest addition to the litigation attorney team at Huffman & Huffman Brothers-in-Law, PLLC, with a concentration on litigating plaintiff’s personal injury cases.
Stephanie began her legal career working at the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges in Newport News, first as an attorney-advisor to one of the Administrative Law Judges, and then as the staff attorney for the Newport News office.
She then gained valuable litigation experience handling primarily insurance defense and workers’ compensation defense for another local law firm before joining the litigation team at Huffman & Huffman.
Stephanie is a graduate of the University of Alabama where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She then went on to attend Penn State University’s Dickinson School of Law earning her Juris Doctor degree. While earning her law degree, Stephanie assisted in drafting an amicus brief filed in the Supreme Court of the United States by Penn State Law’s Civil Rights Appellate Clinic. She represented members of the community as a certified legal intern at the Community Law Clinic. She also competed as a member of the trial advocacy team, labor and employment law moot court team, and served as a senior advocate on the moot court board.
In her free time, Stephanie enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, reading, and spending time with her husband and their rescue dog, Gus.
