Summer in Hampton Roads always feels a little busier, with longer days, beach trips, and more time spent traveling with family and friends.
With increased tourism traffic and ongoing road construction, the roads can be more unpredictable. Whether you are staying close to home or heading out of town, safe habits behind the wheel matter every mile.
This season also brings other everyday risks for families, from children riding bikes and playing in neighborhood roadways, to water safety during pool and beach outings, and the dangers of leaving kids or pets in hot vehicles.
From our team at Huffman & Huffman, we want to wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable summer season. As you make your summer plans, we are sharing a few simple reminders to help keep you and your loved ones safe this season.
Summer safety tip
Never assume a “quick stop” is safe for a child or pet in a parked car. Temperatures inside a vehicle can rise about 20 degrees in just 10 minutes, and can become deadly within minutes, even on a mild day. Cracking the windows does little to slow the heat buildup.
Even when it doesn’t feel extreme outside, the inside of a car can quickly become life-threatening.
Whether you’ve just started the process of filing a personal injury claim or are already negotiating a settlement, you may be wondering how taxes could affect the compensation…
We hope your summer is filled with safe travels and good memories. Proudly serving the Hampton Roads community since 1973 and honored to be voted #1 by our community, Huffman & Huffman is here for you and your family if something unexpected happens along the way. Consultations and advice are always free.
