APPS TO HELP WITH DISTRACTED DRIVING

Distracted driving is at an all-time high, thanks, especially to the widespread use of smartphones. App designers have been cracking down on the issue by creating apps that encourage safe driving. Most of the apps block text messages and phone calls but others can do more than just that. Check out the list of applications below.

  • Cell control – The app activates as soon as you are moving and stays activated, blocking most applications, phone calls, and text messages. It also sends auto-reply texts to let other users know that you are driving and is available for Android and iPhone.
  • AT&T’s Drive Safe Mode – This application blocks text messages, emailing, and phone calls, sends parent or guardian notifications, and is available for both Android and iPhone.
  • LifeSaver – Send parent notifications, block texts and phone calls, track safe miles driven, and get rewarded for safe driving with this app. Available for both Android and iPhone.
  • Safe Drive – This application treats driving like a game. You earn points for safe driving and not touching your phone and you can challenge other drivers to see who earns more points. The application blocks phone calls and text messages. Available for both Android and iPhone.

Become a safe driver today by making one of these apps part of your driving routine. We hope you don’t have to but, if you do find yourself the victim of an accident, please call The Brothers in Law, at (757) 599-6050.
