Holiday Lights at the Beach
Through January 1, 2017
The Virginia Beach boardwalk comes to life this year with Holiday Lights at the beach, a drive through lighting display set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Animated nautical displays blend with holiday-themed illuminations to help start the season with thirty blocks of festive lighting.
Dickens’ Christmas Towne
Through December 21, 2016
Join one of Hampton Road’s newest holiday traditions as it expands to encompass even more holiday magic this year. A Christmas tree forest welcomes visitors to the 15,000-square foot village and an animated puppet show delights kids of all ages. Visit any day for holiday fun, but experience a little extra magic Saturday mornings with Copperfield’s Petting Zoo.
Newport News Celebration in Lights
November 24, 2016 – January 1, 2017
Now in its 24th season, Virginia’s first drive-through holiday light event reopens this year with over 800,000 individual lights coming together to create an animated holiday attraction. With new displays like cherry blossoms and penguin snowball fights, this display illuminates the spirits of all who attend.
Dominion Garden of Lights – Norfolk Botanical Gardens
Through January 1, 2017
Voted the #8 best light displays in the country, the Norfolk Botanical Garden comes to life once again this year with over 1 million individual lights making up fantastic displays all along this 2-mile drive.
Winter Wonderland: the Coleman Collection
November 25 – December 31, 2016
Coleman’s famous Winter Wonderland collection lives on as guests are treated to displays ranging from animated skaters to an enchanted forest and the big man in red himself. This Hampton Roads classic tradition is now held at the Portsmouth Arts and Cultural Center where it continues to spread the magic of the season.
Busch Gardens Christmas Town

Lights are only the beginning of this Holiday hangout. With a varied array of Christmas stores and shows, Busch Garden’s Christmas Town captures the spirit of the holiday and transforms it into a spectacle no reveler should go without. Grab a season pass and return multiple times throughout the season.
Christmas Tree Lighting in Yorktown
December 2, 2016
Upholding a tradition started in 1945, the Yorktown Tree Lighting celebrates the coming of the season in colonial fashion. Watch the procession of lights through the historic village and await the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Williamsburg Christmas Parade

Celebrate the season with a classic Christmas Parade in Williamsburg. Making its way down Richmond Road from Brooks Street all the way to Colonial Williamsburg, there’s no better way to start the holiday season.
Yorktown Lighted Boat Parade

Give a nautical nod to the holidays as the lighted boats begin their cruise down the York River. Featuring hot apple cider and caroling around the beach bonfire, the parade of lights will end with an award for best in show.

Hampton Holly Days Parade

Revel in the holiday spirit with the peninsula’s largest illuminated holiday parade. Afterwards enjoy the North Pole in Carousel Park with free carousel rides, a giant snow globe, interactive elves workshop, Make and Take Toy Crafts, Live Entertainment, and Food Vendors. There will also be a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Olde Towne Holiday Music Festival

Let your holiday caroler run free with the Olde Towne business and museums this holiday season. Launched in 1998 this festival brings together revelers to sing, dance, and enjoy treats like roasted marshmallows, performers, and activities to delight all ages.
